Tips To Starting Your Day Off Right!

Good Morning lovelies!

I hope you are having a good day! Things have settled down here a bit, thank goodness! As I mentioned a while back my Son and DIL are expecting twins and they also have a 2 year old little girl. Well our DIL ended up in the hospital for a week and a half on bed rest! But, she is now home and everything is back on track! 

During that time we kept our 2 year old Granddaughter including over night stays! We loved every minute of it and really felt like we got to bond with her even more! She's an angel with the sweetest personality! As most of you know we're empty nesters. So in order for the week to run smoothly and to not get too stressed out with having a 2 year old in the house again, I implemented my morning routine that I practiced when I had 2 boys running around! Nothing crazy! Just simple tips to get your day started off on the right foot!

Get up a half an hour earlier than the kids do
Our Granddaughter generally wakes up at around 8:00 so what I would do is set my alarm for 7:15 and actually roll out at around 7:30. Waking up on your own, and not getting startled awake is HUGE!

Immediately make your bed
I mean really, it takes just a couple of minutes and it just puts you in the right mind set!

Hop in the shower
Lather up with a beautiful body wash to awaken all your senses!

Put on REAL clothes
I know when I was raising my boys the summer was really bad, because I would get really lazy and sometimes not get dressed until noon! This made me feel gross about myself and unproductive. It's all a mind game people! So just throw on some yoga pants or jeans and a T, nothing fancy!

Put some makeup on
This is a must in my book! Some light foundation or tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and some gloss. That's it!

Throw a load of laundry in
You will be surprised how this helps with your daily chores by getting a load laundry done first! And make sure and complete it by drying, folding, and putting it away!

Empty the dishwasher
Hopefully it was loaded and it ran after dinner the night before. I always make sure the sink is empty of dishes and I also scrub my sink every night and set out a fresh dishtowel. Again 2 minutes!  Starting the day with an empty dishwasher and sink is also just one of those little steps that makes the day run more smoothly. 

Make your coffee the night before
The last thing I do before I go to bed is get my coffee ready to go and set everything out, even my cup and spoon.

head!
