Sneak Peek!!

Sunday, May 4, 2014

I hope you're having a good weekend!

We've had a pretty lazy weekend. It rained most of the weekend. But, that's ok with me. I love the rain when no one has to go anywhere. So relaxing! We didn't even go out to dinner once! What? I know…not like us! Mike made dinner Friday night that I'll be sharing later in the week that was in one word... de-li-cious!! Thanks honey!!

The new chairs from PB came Saturday and I'm in love with them! They're the Buchanan chairs from Pottery Barn. They were on sale, and I feel like I got a really good deal on them. I've been watching them for a while now, so when they went on sale I snagged them!

Still trying to figure out what accent colors I want to go with the navy and white that I'm bringing in. Maybe a pop of Green apple?

Now on to the kitchen. This is how it looked Saturday morning.
I feel an idea coming on...

And it's put into play! We're taking down the two upper cabinets on the sink side and adding open shelving! I'm so excited about this project, I can't even tell you! Well, I'm actually telling you now!
So I ordered these…
The cafe shelving from Ballard Designs

Mike taking down the existing uppers.

And this is what it looks like today!
It will still be awhile before we get the shelves up, because we still need to paint (Our guy was suppose to start today, but will still be another week) and we are adding bead board above the subway tile on the entire sink side wall. With two shelves on each side.
I think it's really going to open up the kitchen!

So that's my sneak peek! What do you think?

Stop by often to keep up on the progress!

  1. Well I loved the cabinets but YES it'll open up that side nicely I think. The painter, eh? Got a break in his sch for you♡

  2. Thanks I Think it's going to be marvelous! And make putting the dishes away much easier!! Speaking of Jim, first he said he could start today now he says end of next week! Oh well!!

  3. Kathy, that's going to be amazing. Your kitchen is already so pretty and those shelves will be the crowning touch.

  4. Your house is gorgeous!

  5. Thanks Emily! So happy you're here! ~Kathy
