A Tale From The Other Side

Friday, February 7, 2014

So far I've only shown one side of our house. But, there is another side that doesn't seem to get that much attention. They consist of the laundry room, a desk area, and the 2nd bathroom.

I just thought they were kind of... uninteresting, and frankly forgettable. But I've had some requests for the laundry room and 2nd bathroom. So I thought I would show them some love!

The rooms are on the other side of the house. Which is the reason for the title of this post. If you were wondering what the heck that meant!

The laundry room although pretty spacious is set up kind of weird. In the fact that there isn't a lot of space for folding or storing laundry stuff.

I had the front load washer and dryer for about 5 yrs. before we decided to put the pedestals on them. I really got tired of putting wash in and out on my knees. Oh the drudgery! And when we were a family of 4, the wash was never ending!
But, I debated about them blocking the window. So I just got a bamboo blind and I keep it closed and go on with my life!

I'm also hoping to paint soon. Because even though the color is tan, it has a gold undertone to it. And I don't like it!!

Laundry basket and wire baskets from The Container Store and my Mrs. Meyers shelf. I love this stuff!!

The desk is part of the laundry room. And as you can see from the pictures the accessories are always changing! :)

The desk area was a huge cabinet when we bought the house. The storage was nice, but we thought a desk would be more practical at the time when the boys were growing up.

When we had our kitchen redone we gave the desk a little face lift too and installed the same granite and subway tile as the kitchen, so it would flow.

This is the view from the kitchen looking into the laundry room. I just got the metal light from Ikea a couple of weeks ago. And it gives off great light!

Now this little bathroom is due for a change…soon! So check back to see what changes are in store. Not much to say here. :(
So that's my tale from the other side!
Do you have rooms that are forgotten?

I also wanted to let you know that I installed a new commenting system to make it easier to comment. No joining anything! I would love to hear from you!!
