Dining Room Chairs Makeover

Friday, December 13, 2013

I decided one day that our dining room chairs were, well boring.  And that they needed a little makeover to jazz them up a bit. So I started scouring stores and online and came across a fabric that I thought would be just the ticket. The finish on the chairs are dark so I wanted something that would pop!

I came across this fabric from Ballarddesign.com and immediately fell in love with it! It's kind of a goldy/tan lattice print.

Mike was so happy to have another project to do! I'm the thinker, he's the do-er!

First, he unscrewed all the screws from the bottom of the chair. And popped the seat out, leaving the old fabric on. Then we had to take out a gazillion staples from the old fabric. We didn't want those popping through on someones bottom! Ouch!

Then laying the seat on the fabric and cutting it a few inches larger then the seat. Wrap it like  you would wrap a present, pulling it tight and with a simple staple gun, staple the heck out of it!

Tah-dah! New (almost) chairs!!

Recovering your chairs is a quick, inexpensive way to update and add new life to your furniture, and your room!
Give it a try!!
